To discover the as yet little known valleys of Verbano Cusio Ossola, CUBE proposes combining winter sports activities with thermal baths. In some of the charming mountain resorts off the beaten track, such as Formazza, situated in the valley of the same name, and Alpe Devero, there is cross-country skiing and freeriding, besides snowshoe walking. These activities are rounded off by opportunities for complete relaxation. Not only are there the thermal baths of Val Antigorio, but there are also enchanting fishing villages on the Borromeo islands, splendid towns such as Stresa along the shores of Lake Maggiore, and the wonderful parks of Pallanza. Accommodation can be provided either in the luxury hotels along the lakes’ shores or in the traditional restored locanda walzer, typical inns of this part of the world. Dinner is organized in some of the best “Michelin-starred” restaurants of Piedmont which are situated in this area. The particular feature of this proposal is the variety of landscapes the visitor can enjoy. While during the day it is possible to do various snow sports surrounded by the typical winter landscape of high mountains, in the evening guests can dine on some of the most exclusive recipes of the top “starred” chefs of the region in the magical atmosphere of the lakes and its famous villas and residences. As with CUBE’s other proposals, a stay in the Verbano Valleys can be alternated with some nights in Turin to explore the first capital of Italy with its cultural and gastronomic treasures.
